TS REBEL staff are all volunteers (aged 18-65) with a wide range of skills, experience and qualifications. We are particularly looking to recruit people who:

  • Have teaching qualifications and/or experience of working with young people.
  • Are enthusiastic to promote the ethos and objectives of the Sea cadet Corps in a practical environment.
  • Have good people skills.
In addition:
  • Have RYA Day Skipper Practical certificate to act as offshore “first mates” or keel boat skippers.
  • Have RYA Yachtmaster Offshore qualification to act as offshore skippers.
  • Have RYA Dinghy Instructor qualification to act as keel boat instructors.
  • Have RYA Power Boat Instructor qualification to act as instructors to Levels 1 and 2 (displacement).
  • Have RYA Power Boat Level 2 (Coastal) to act as power boat coxn’s for support operations.
We would also like to hear from anybody capable of cooking for up to 15 people at a time on some of our 20 odd shorebased weekends each year.

Staff, either uniformed or civilian, are expected to a commit to a number of weekends and one week each year.

TS REBEL provides a great opportunity for staff to develop their boating skills and further their qualifications. Applicants should have reasonable access to Walton on the Naze in Essex where most of the training is carried out. All applicants are subject to a CRB Full Disclosure check.
