Rules and Regulations

There are a number of important documents which provide guidance and control for Paddlesport activities within the Sea Cadet Corps. These documents should be used as a source of reference, any specific questions should be forwarded to ASO-Paddlesport at the soonest instance.

Training Instructions (TIs)

Chapter 32 'Paddlesport' (Change 27) of TIs provides information on staff and cadet Paddlesport training.

Training Afloat Regulations and Safety (TARS)

Chapter 9 'Paddlesport' (2009 version) of TARS provides Naval Cadet Forces (including Sea Cadet Corps) operating procedures for Paddlesport.

Risk Assessments

Following the guidance on safety provided within TIs, all Paddlesport activities require risk assessing. This may take the form of individual assessment for trips, competitions and journeys; or assessments for ongoing continuation training at Unit, District or Area level.
