The Sea Cadets is a nationwide voluntary youth organisation, open to young people aged 12 to 18, Marine Cadets for young people aged 13 to 18 and with Junior Sections open to those of 10 to 12 years of age, run by enthusiastic adult volunteers.

If you're out to enjoy life as much as possible, this is the place for you! Fun, friendship, adventure and learning new skills is what we're about - based on waterborne activities, but with lots of other exciting things to learn and do on land as well. Have a look and see what you could be getting involved in.

Calling ALL cadets!
YOU London will be launched at Buckingham Palace on 16th July, and we need YOU!
Up to 150 cadets will be needed to attend and help at the event - whether you fancy being a Cadet Ambassador, or involved in Seamanship, Marine Cadet or PT displays, or on the water at West India Docks there is a chance to meet VIPs including MPs, and even Prince Charles!
Tell your CO that YOU want to be involved!

London Sea Cadets paid a visit to the Prime Minister on Monday 22nd June, when POC George Whitfield from SOUTHWARK Unit helped Gordon Brown to kick off the Armed Forces Day celebrations this year. George is pictured far right, with the PM and cadets from the other uniformed organisations. Armed Forces Day will also be celebrated this Saturday 27th at Battersea Park, where WANDSWORTH and TOOTING Units will be representing London Area, and at Romford where HORNCHURCH and BASILDON Units will be flying the flag!

MONEY IN THE BANK

Carol Layzell, Barclays Bank Area Director for London North, was so touched by an article in her local paper about the local Sea Cadet unit, that she felt compelled to help. A couple of 'phone calls were made, which resulted in a cheque for £500 being presented to ENFIELD unit on the evening of 16 June. Carol (on the left) is pictured with the unit CO, PO Allen Holloway and the ship's company.
